WANJERI NDERU is a communications consultant and an award winning Human Rights Defender from Kenya who specialises in the linkages between Corruption and other social justice and human rights violations with a bias toward the eradication of Sexual Violence in all its forms.
She is the recipient of the Kenyan Integrity Award(2016), Jerry Lockspeiser Research Funding Award, UK(2019), Nominee Lifetime Achievement Human Rights Defenders Award, Kenya(2021) among others. She is also a Research Fellow with The University Of York(UK) where during her stay, she authored a research paper on the effects of Human Rights Work on the mental health of Women Human Rights Defenders.
She currently sits as the President of the International Society For Human Rights(ISHR-Germany), Kenyan chapter and is also the current vice president of ISHR-Germany in charge of East Africa. When she is not combating sexual violence perpetrators, Wanjeri is a fierce defender of the Kenyan constitution where she serves as the head of the LINDA KATIBA secretariat and uses her extensive communications experience for advocacy.
Wanjeri is based in Nairobi, Kenya where she is married with four children.
